Genital outbreaks can be
triggered by:
- stress on the body
- menstruation
- pregnancy
- excessive drinking
- sunburn
- suppressed immune system
- fatigue
- certain foods (anything rich in arginine)
- other illnesses
Take care of the affected skin area by
keeping it clean and dry during outbreaks to help healing.
Keep genital area dry and clean.
Avoid physical contact with the affected area from the time the skin starts
tingling, itching or burning until all sores get completely healed and not just
scabbed-over.
Always wash your hands with soap and water, if you happen to touch a
sore.
Avoid diet products containing the synthetic
sweeteners of any kind. This ingredient is known to trigger outbreak.
Avoid having sex until blisters have completely
healed.
Treat the blisters topically. Dab tea tree oil, a
natural antiseptic, at either full or half strength directly on them several
times a day.
Increase the intake of diet high in lysine and low in arginine. This
means, eat more fish, chicken, beef, lamb, cheese, beans, brewer’s yeast and
most fruits and vegetables, and avoid milk, chocolate, coconut, oats, whole
wheat, white flour, peanuts, corn, peanuts, soybeans and wheat germ.
Stress is a known contributor to frequent outbreaks. So, adopting
meditations, acceptance, love, peace and lots of rest and relaxation are major
contributors in permanent healing.
